Coworker offered to take Bishop shooting as a stress reliever from her denial of tenure, after Bishop confessed that she wanted to commit suicide. It is likely in the best interest of all to keep openly suicidal people away from guns, as Bishop could have committed a shooting rampage or killed herself at that point as well.
