A prosecutor says Howard possessed the firearm while allegedly being dependent or in danger of becoming drug dependent and that the firearm was purchased by falsifying background check forms. Howard has a history of mental health issues. ; He was a former Bobcat hockey standout (13 goals and 14 assists in his freshman 2012-13 season but only two games played for OU the following year, and not on the team the past two seasons, according to statistics on the Ohio hockey team’s website. Howard’s mother reported she thought Howard was “bi-polar,” but said he is “very smart, and very convincing,” and noted that he “may present well” but that police shouldn’t “be fooled.”
