OU Police attempted to locate Howard at his house in uptown Athens. When they couldn’t find him, a warrant was issued for his arrest. Around mid-day, Howard’s mother called the OU Police and requested a well-being check on her son, according to the warrant documents. Howard's mom later reported to the OUPD that she had spoke with her son, and said he told her he was coming “home” to Youngstown, and she canceled the well-being check.
