At age 12, Coon is charged with domestic violence because of aggressive behavior towards his mother. He yells and punches her in the eye. Coon admits to the crime in juvenile court and is ordered to attend counseling, community service, and anger management classes. He receives the counseling but never anger management help. His older brother is also charged with domestic assault at age 13. Coon and his two brothers threaten neighbors with weapons including rocks, knives, and a fake bomb.
