Police say that Howard allegedly assaulted an assistant hockey coach earlier on March 21, 2016. According to Athens News, Howard walked up to OU assistant hockey coach Kyle Schussler’s desk in Bird Arena before noon Monday (March 21) and asked about the whereabouts of OU’s head hockey coach, Sean Hogan. Schussler said Hogan was not available; Howard, in response, started cursing and “slammed” Schussler’s office door. Howard then started “pounding on the office door”; Schussler started to open the door, and Howard forced his way in, shoved Schussler against a desk, and “attempted to punch” Schussler in the face, which the warrant says Howard was “unsuccessful” in attempting. Schussler pushed him out of his office, with Howard stating he had “proved his point” before leaving the facility.
