A school staff member raises an alarm about Flores over a year before the shooting, saying he is depressed and capable of violence. No action is taken by the school. Many students and professors in his classes describe him as hostile, belligerent, potentially dangerous, and disruptive. If he does not get the grade he wants, he makes a scene. One professor who is later killed complains to her husband about him and mentions that he may be a physical threat. She says that he has a military background and is very intimidating. Her husband encourages her to report him to school authorities, but she says it would do no good.
