After he hears gunshots, a teacher walks up to Campbell and asks him to put down the gun. The teacher states, “Well, I yelled at him, that’s when he spun in my direction. And I just started yelling, ‘put it down, put it down.’ By the grace of God, he put it down.” At this point, a New Mexico state police lieutenant happens to be dropping off his child at school. The principal asks if he can help secure the scene.
