Attempted suicide. Went for treatment but ended because of a dispute between 2 clinics he was using. Suffered abuse from his father, who abused his mother and other siblings. Father would not let them receive medical treatment. He put rigid controls on all family members, and when Alvaro was a child, he was only allowed to work on schoolwork, read adult level books, and could not play with friends.
