Chanthabouly has a history of trauma to the head, stemming from an incident one year ago where a gang of kids threaten him at school, attack him, and hit him in the back of the head. As a result, his mother transfers him to a different high school, but he eventually returns to Mount Tahoma High. His mother says that his return to this school causes him some depression. She tries to have him transferred again, but the principal at a different school does not want to admit him until he raises his grades, and because of behavioral issues.
