School personnel view Williams as a “wholesome and well-adjusted boy”, a “loved” individual, and a good student. Reports by Dr. Peter Langman state that Williams has a reputation as a prankster, daredevil, and class clown, which suggest a disregard for the rules among other items. He sets a fire when he is 11, and reports a long history of substance abuse, including the use of alcohol, cocaine, and pills at the age of 12. This information coupled with the fact that Williams later tricks his friends into thinking he is kidding about shooting up the school suggests that he is good at “impression management” according to Dr. Langman. Some reports say that he is bullied, but in reality he is friends with a delinquent group, where members are currently serving time for murder or are on parole. Williams also erases messages from the school and alters his report card to hide his truancy and declining grades from his father.
